Scientific name: Macromia berlandi

Habitat: woodland stream with sandy substrate

Body length: 73-77 mm

Distribution in Hong Kong: Mainly in north and central New Territories, e.g. Luk Keng, Hok Tau, Sham Tseng, Nam Chung. Also recorded in Tai Tam, Hong Kong Island.

Flight period in Hong Kong: April to September

Similar species: Regal Pond Cruiser, South China Cruiser, Club-tailed Cruiser (Comparison)

Identification features:

2. The 8th abdominal segment all black
