Habitat: fast-flowing stream

Body length: 37-42 mm

Distribution in Hong Kong: Widespread, e.g. Bride’s Pool, Wu Kau Tang, Tai Po Kau, Mui Wo

Flight period in Hong Kong: April to November

Identification features (male): 

1. Synthorax and abdomen mainly black

2. Black-banded spots at centre of hindwings

Identification features (female): 

1. Apparent yellow stripes at synthorax

2. Apparent yellow vertical stripes at abdomen

3. Abdomen slightly longer than wings
