Scientific name: Anax parthenope julius
Habitat: marsh, pond, slow-flowing stream
Body length: 68-76 mm
Distribution in Hong Kong: widespread, such as Long Valley, Hong Kong Wetland Park, Kai Kuk Shue Ha, urban parks
Flight period in Hong Kong: March to December
Similar species: Pale-spotted Emperor, Blue-spotted Emperor (Comparison)
Identification features:
1. Two black stripes on the frons
2. Synthorax green, without apparent stripes on two sides
3. Inner edge of hindwing of both sexes smooth
4. Spots on abdomen strip-like
5. Second abdominal segment mainly in male, and either green or blue in female
