Scientific name: Brachydiplax flavovittata

Habitat: marsh, pond

Body length: 34-40 mm

Distribution in Hong Kong: widespread, e.g. Hong Kong Wetland, Long Valley, Hok Tau 

Flight period in Hong Kong: April to November

Identification features (male):

1. Two broad yellow stripes at two sides of synthorax respectively

2. Synthorax and the 1st to the first half of the 6th abdominal segment pruinose pale blue 

3. The latter half of the 6th to the 10th abdominal segment black

4. Apparent amber spot on wingbase

Identification features (female):：

1. Synthorax and abdomen black, with yellow stripes

2. A pair of large yellow spots on each segment from the 4th to 7th abdominal segment
