Scientific name: Euthygomphus koxingai

Habitat: streams with sandy or muddy substrate

Body length: 46-57 mm

Distribution in Hong Kong: Mainly in New Territories, e.g. Hok Tau, Lau Shui Heung

Flight period in Hong Kong: April to August

Identification features: 

1. Three complete yellow stripes at two sides of synthorax respectively

2. Hind legs long with femur able to exceed half of the 2nd abdominal segment

3. Dorsum of the 7th abdominal segment with a pentagonal spot with a tip pointing downward. 

4. The 7th to 9th abdominal segment swollen in male
